Site Visits

Holding Facilities

Our Farm Holding unit is available should your animal need to be hospitalised for treatment. Please be aware that we do not have a dedicated farm vet on site at night. Patient checks are performed 10pm and at 7am. Further checks on your animal are at the discretion of the vet and are decided on a case by case basis.

Medication

Dispensing and Prescribing

  • It is our policy that prescriptions or medicines may only be prescribed for animals that have been seen recently enough for the vet to have personal knowledge of the condition of the animal, or current health status of the herd or flock to make a diagnosis and prescribe. This is in line with guidance from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
  • In order that our vets prescribe the most suitable medication for your animals it is necessary that you have had a visit in the last 12 months. The general policy of this practice is to re-assess an animal requiring repeat prescriptions every 12 months, but this may vary with individual cases and disease processes.
  • You may obtain prescription only medicines veterinary (POM.V) from your veterinary surgeon or ask for a prescription and obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgeon or a pharmacy.
  • Prescriptions are available on request for POM.V drugs from this practice at a cost of £27* Inc VAT per item.
  • A prescription may not be appropriate if your animal is an inpatient or if immediate treatment is necessary.
  • Prices of medications is available on request, please ask for an estimate.

*Prices correct as at Aug 2026, these are indicative and subject to change.
