About the role
Langford Vets are delighted to welcome applications to our 1-year discipline specific medicine internship.
You will be joining our large medicine team, currently comprising 9 ECVIM diplomates, 1 board-eligible clinician and 8 medicine residents, and have exposure to a busy and varied clinical caseload, delivering care to a range of emergency, acute and chronic medical patients.
Your primary role will be the provision of a clinical referral service with direct case responsibility, working within our dynamic and collaborative Canine and Feline Medicine and Emergency and Critical Care teams, alongside other specialities within the Small Animal Referral Hospital.
You will receive clinical training in all aspects of Veterinary Internal Medicine. This position has been created to be the ideal pre-residency role and is anticipated to be ideally suited to candidates who have already completed a rotating internship and are looking for the next step in their career towards pursuing medicine specialist training. As a teaching hospital, you will also participate in undergraduate clinical teaching during the internship.
To be considered for this position, candidates should be able to demonstrate a clear passion for Internal Medicine; be fluent in English; be eligible to work in the UK; be registered with, or eligible for membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons; have completed the equivalent of two years primary care clinical practice and ideally a rotating internship within a multi-disciplinary specialist-led referral hospital.
Positions will commence from January 2026.
