Recent Graduate Scheme: Practical Days
We were delighted to welcome recent veterinary graduates to Langford Vets for our Recent Graduate Practical Days, held on 17th and 18th December 2025.
Across the two days, attendees took part in a packed programme of hands-on learning designed to build confidence in core clinical skills. The event began with an introduction to echocardiography, combining short talks with practical scanning sessions led by our cardiology team. Working in small, supportive groups gave graduates the opportunity to ask questions, practise techniques, and gain valuable one-to-one guidance.
A lunchtime learning session followed, with a clinical nutrition talk delivered by Hill’s. As always, we are hugely grateful to Hill’s for their continued support and for sharing practical insights that graduates can take straight back into practice.
The afternoon focused on surgical and imaging skills, with practical sessions covering Mila drains, oesophagostomy tubes, and advanced suturing techniques, led by our experienced surgical clinicians. The day concluded with an imaging film reading session, helping early-career vets to further develop their radiographic interpretation skills.
The Practical Days were a real success, with fantastic engagement throughout and positive feedback from attendees. It was a pleasure to support recent graduates at this important stage in their careers, and to see so much enthusiasm for learning, collaboration, and skill development.
