We have an exciting opportunity to work as part of our Theatre team as a theatre assistant. This role is to cover a period of maternity leave and is expected to last until July 2020.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in state-of-the-art theatres, working alongside renowned specialists in Orthopaedics, Soft Tissue, Ophthalmology, Anaesthesia, Cardiology and Neurology. The successful candidate will work in several different roles within the theatre team, sterilising surgical instrumentation, infection control within the theatres, assisting with surgical preparation on cases and circulating with surgical cases. The will have a responsibility to maintain a high standard of hygiene within the surgical areas and ensure that stock control is maintained.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high standard of care, a desire to learn and a capability to work under pressure. Previous experience in a referral environment is desirable but not essential. Flexibility will be necessary as the post will require participation in the OOH rota.
