New exciting opportunity!

We are looking for a Junior Clinician in Anaesthesia and Ophthalmology to enrol in a combined one-year long specialty internship to support and be part of the provision of high-quality clinical service in the respective areas. The role will be working under the supervision of the senior clinical ophthalmologists and anaesthetists.

This position will also suit an individual with an interest in teaching, in particular supporting the training of undergraduate veterinary colleagues.

The individual will spend approximately half of the week shadowing our ECVO diploma-lead ophthalmology service (Savina Gogova -DVM DipECVO MRCVS), with some client facing and patient care responsibilities. The remaining half of the week will be embedded within our ECVAA specialist led anaesthesia department (Paul Macfarlane - BVSc CertVA DipECVAA FRCVS). Both allocations will involve opportunities to develop knowledge and technical skills in these areas and would suit an individual that has completed a general rotating internship and is wanting to develop further in their career path towards specialisation in anaesthesia or ophthalmology. Support for attending a specialist-oriented congress is included as well as tutorship for scientific publication.

As part of the provision of clinical services the role holder may occasionally contribute to out of hours care within the Small Animal Hospital for ophthalmology or anaesthesia patients.

Note this is a 12-month fixed term position. Annual leave must be organised dependent on service needs during this time.

The annual salary for this role is £27,650.

We offer a generous pension scheme, 5 weeks holiday per year plus Bank Holidays, Bupa Benefit, Enhanced maternity pay, CPD, employee discounts of up to 50%, free onsite parking, free eye test voucher and annual flu vaccinations.
