Langford Vets’ Small Animal Hospital, the teaching hospital for Bristol University, has an exciting opportunity for a boarded or board eligible specialist in Emergency and Critical Care to join our ICU team. Full time, part time, or flexible working patterns would all be open for discussion depending on the applicant.

This opportunity offers the benefit of working within a large, modern, multi-disciplinary referral hospital with state-of-the-art equipment and enthusiastic and forward-thinking colleagues in a beautiful area of the UK.  Our Emergency and Critical Care Service is well established with a broad and interesting caseload.  We work closely with other services within the hospital to provide exceptional patient care. We are fortunate to work closely with a highly motivated team of ICU nurses, several of whom have or are working towards their VTS(ECC). We also have dedicated animal care assistants for the ICU.

Teaching and research opportunities are also encouraged, and off clinics time is offered to support this.

The hospital is located in North Somerset, an area of exceptional beauty with easy access to climbing, walking, mountain biking and water sports. We are 20 minutes outside cosmopolitan Bristol for city lovers.

A veterinary qualification that can be registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons is essential. The ideal candidate must have experience of and enthusiasm for teaching and be a Diplomate of the European or American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, or residency trained.
