New microchipping laws to come into practice

From the 6th of April 2016, all dogs in the UK must be microchipped and registered to an approved database by the time they are eight weeks old.

For every dog that is currently not microchipped, you will have until 6th of April to get them microchipped and registered on an approved database. Failure to do so may result in a fine of up to £500 for the owner.

Ensuring your dog is microchipped has many benefits including making it easier to reunite owners with lost dogs, deter dog theft and promote responsible dog ownership.

With the new Mcrochipping Laws in mind, throughout February and March, our Small Animal Practice will be offering Microchipping at the discounted price of £10. Get in touch with us now to book your appointment.

If you have any questions regarding the new law, getting your dog microchipped or ensuring your details are up to date on the database, then please do not hesitate to contact our Small Animal Practice on 01934 852422 or at
