Sports Medicine Service
Equine sports medicine at Langford Vets is led by world renowned respiratory expert Dr Kate Allen and links with multiple other services in the hospital depending on the nature of the problem being investigated. The service provides dynamic endoscopy with investigation of both upper and lower airway disease and heart disease for horses of all different athletic backgrounds. If required the expertise of other clinicians in lameness, medicine or surgery can be incorporated for investigation of musculoskeletal or other causes of poor performance.
Kate has been leading research in this field for over ten years. Her research papers and her expertise have seen her giving CPD here in the UK and at international conferences.
