Kevin Parsons

Kevin Parsons, BVSc PhD CertSAS DipECVS MRCVS

Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Surgery

Kevin graduated from the University of Bristol in 2000 and then worked in small animal and mixed practice in Devon and Cornwall for three years. He then undertook a small animal internship, PhD (in the field of locomotor biomechanics) and a three-year residency in small animal surgery at the Royal Veterinary College, London. Kevin attained his RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery in 2009 and is currently studying towards his European Diploma in Small Animal Surgery. Kevin is a Senior Lecturer in Surgery and will be working with both the orthopaedic and soft tissue teams at Langford. He is interested and enjoys all aspects of small animal surgery, particularly orthopaedics.

 


Neil Burton

Neil Burton BVSc DSAS(Orth) CertSAS MRCVS

Small Animal Staff Surgeon(Orthopaedics)

Neil graduated from the University of Bristol in 2001. After a period working in first opinion small animal practice he returned to Bristol in 2004 undertaking a one year internship in surgery at which time he was awarded the Royal College Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. He followed this with a four year residency in small animal orthopaedics and neurosurgery sponsored by Intervet-Schering-Plough. Neil's clinical interests include complex fracture repair, hip, elbow & knee replacement and limb deformity correction with Ilizarov fixation.

Neil has an active interest in clinical orthopaedic research and was awarded the Leslie Vaughan Prize by the British Veterinary Orthopaedic Association and the Mark S Bloomberg Award by the Veterinary Orthopaedic Society for research in to canine elbow dysplasia in 2009. He was awarded the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Diploma in Small Animal Surgery (Orthopaedics) in 2011.

Peter Delisser

Peter Delisser BVSc(Hons) CertSAS MRCVS

Senior Clinical training Scholar in Small Animal Surgery

Peter was born in Brisbane, Australia and completed his veterinary studies at the University of Queensland. He graduated in 2002 and initially spent 2 years in mixed practice in rural Australia. He moved to the United Kingdom in 2005 and spent 18 months performing short locum positions and travelling throughout Europe. In 2007, he enrolled in the RCVS certificate in Small Animal Surgery. He then completed a small animal internship as House Officer at Davies Veterinary Specialists in Hertfordshire in 2008 and then proceeded to work as principal surgeon for a group of clinics in central London, until starting the surgical residency at Langford in July 2009. He passed the RCVS CertSAS examination in September 2010. Peter enjoys all aspects of small animal surgery, but particularly wound management, fracture repair and oncological surgery.

 


Anna DeBattisti

Anna DeBattisti, MRCVS

Senior Clinical Training Scholar in Small Animal Surgery.

Anna graduated from the University of Bologna in Italy and completed an Internship in Small Animal Medicine at a referral practice in Italy, before moving to the UK in 2008. After one year spent working in first opinion practices in London, she completed a rotation Internship at Wey Referrals.

In March 2010 she joined the University of Bristol as Small Animal Surgery Resident.

 


Katie Hamilton

Katie Hamilton BVSc MACVSc(SAS)MRCVS

Senior Clinical Training Scholar in Small Animal Surgery

Katie Hamilton has joined the team as a Senior Clinical Training Scholar in Surgery. Katie graduated from the University of Bristol in 2004 and joined a small animal first opinion practice in Wiltshire for 3 years. She then completed a 12 month internship at a private referral centre in Surrey where she developed a strong interest in surgery. Following this she joined a small animal in practice in Surrey while preparing for the small animal surgery membership examinations for the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists.

She enjoys all aspects of her role but has a special interest in wound management and stifle disease.
