Adrian Wallace

Adrian Wallace BVSc(Hons) MACVSc(SAS) Dip ECVS MRCVS

Orthopaedic Surgeon
Adrian graduated from the University of Melbourne in Australia. After spending time in general practice in Australia and the UK he decided to pursue specialist surgical training. This commenced with a surgical internship at Northern Sydney Veterinary Specialist Centre.

In 2004 he gained membership to the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists (Small Animal Surgery), following successful written and oral examinations. Adrian moved to the UK in 2005 in order to undertake residency training in Small Animal Surgery at the University of Cambridge. In 2009 he attained the ECVS Diploma in Small Animal Surgery.

Adrians surgical training encompassed soft tissue, orthopaedics and neurosurgery. During his residency he developed a strong interest in orthopaedics and this area provided his main research focus. In 2008 he was awarded the Leslie Vaughan Prize by the British Veterinary Orthopaedic Association and the Mark Bloomberg Award by the Veterinary Orthopaedic Society for projects conducted during his residency.

Adrian’s clinical interests include fracture repair, angular limb deformities, arthroscopy and feline orthopaedics. He is passionate about surgical training and enjoys providing continuing education/tuition to students, interns, residents and colleagues.

Neil Burton

Neil Burton BVSc CertSAS MRCVS

Clinical Surgeon in Small Animal Orthopaedics

Neil graduated from the University of Bristol in 2001. After a period working in first opinion small animal practice he returned to the Bristol in September 2004 to undertake a one year internship in small animal soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery followed by a four year residency in small animal orthopaedic and neurosurgery surgery sponsored by Intervet-Schering-Plough.

Neil’s clinical interests include Neil’s clinical interests include complex fracture repair, elbow dysplasia, TATE elbow resurfacing arthroplasty, hip and knee replacement surgery and limb deformity correction with Ilizarov fixation.

Neil has an active interest in orthopaedic research – specifically elbow dysplasia and he has published widely in this field receiving the International Mark S. Bloomberg Award for research in this area in 2008. Neil is currently studying towards his RCVS Specialist Diploma in Small Animal Orthopaedic Surgery.

Peter Delisser

Peter Delisser BVSc(Hons) MRCVS

Senior Clinical training Scholar in Small Animal Surgery

Peter was born in Brisbane, Australia and completed his veterinary studies at the University of Queensland. He graduated in 2002 and initially spent 2 years in mixed practice in rural Australia. He moved to the United Kingdom in 2005 and spent 18 months performing short locum positions and travelling throughout Europe. In 2007, he enrolled in the RCVS certificate in Small Animal Surgery. He then completed a small animal internship as House Officer at Davies Veterinary Specialists in Hertfordshire in 2008 and then proceeded to work as principal surgeon for a group of clinics in central London, until starting the surgical residency at Langford in July 2009. Peter enjoys all aspects of small animal surgery, but particularly wound management, fracture repair and oncological surgery.

 


 

Alberto Gines

Alberto Gines DVM MRCVS

European College of Veterinary Surgeons Resident in Small Animal Surgery.
Alberto graduated from the University of Extremadura in 1998. After four years working as a clinical assistant at the University of Extremadura, Alberto moved to UK to do a Internship in Small Animal Surgery at the University of Bristol in 2006. Alberto has been working as a principal surgeon in small animal practice in Kent before starting his Residency at the University of Bristol Veterinary School. Alberto plans to sit the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery examination and he is working towards the European Diploma in Small Animal Surgery. Alberto’s orthopaedic interests include External Skeletal Fixation and arthroscopic surgery

 


 

Kelly Bowlt

Kelly Bowlt BVM&S MRCVS

European College of Veterinary Surgeons Resident in Small Animal Surgery.

Kelly graduated from Edinburgh University in 2005 and following two years in small animal practice, completed an internship at the Royal Veterinary College. She joined the University of Bristol as a Small Animal Surgery Resident in 2008 and her main interests lie in surgery of trauma patients.
