Registered Veterinary Nurse - SAP

We have a vacancy for a full-time Registered Veterinary Nurse to work within our Small Animal First Opinion Practice.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our small and friendly team. This post would be most suited to a newly qualified RVN who is keen to improve his/her standard of patient care and be involved with teaching of veterinary and nursing students.  The successful candidate will be required to have a positive work ethic, be flexible and a team player.

As an RCVS accredited Tier 2 practice, we have excellent facilities and access to referral services and we strive to provide an excellent standard of patient and client care.

Canine Medicine Nurse Part Time (17 hours per week)

We are seeking clinically-experienced RVN to work as part of our Canine Medicine Nursing team.

You will work in a challenging and stimulating environment where you will be encouraged to utilise your skills predominately within the dog medicine department, assisting with procedures including endoscopy and chemotherapy and in-patient care. 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high standard of nursing care, a desire to learn and a capability to work under pressure.  Previous experience in a referral environment is desirable but not essential. You will be involved with teaching and supervision of Veterinary and Veterinary Nursing undergraduates on clinical rotations. Flexibility will be necessary as the post will require participation in the OOH rota.

Hours of work will be based on a 17 hour week and will include a Monday and Friday, plus participation in a 1:6 weekend rota.

Equine Nurse

A rare opportunity has arisen to join our equine nursing team!

Are you an enthusiastic, hard-working and motivated individual? We are seeking a qualified REVN or RVN with equine experience to join our team of four lovely nurses. We are a busy Equine referral hospital located in the south west, dealing with a high surgical, medical and orthopaedic case load, working alongside the University of Bristol teaching and supporting degree students on clinical rotations.

You will be required to work on an out of hours rota covering 1 in 5 weekend duties and one night per week. CPD is funded and encouraged, holiday is 25 days per annum and a competitive salary offered depending on experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in all different areas of equine nursing including lameness and radiology, surgical theatre, CT, nuclear scintigraphy, MRI and in-patient care. You must be able to work well in a team alongside other nurses, vets, yard staff and students.

Dermatology Nurse Part Time (22.5hrs/week), Fixed Term Contract (end of December)

We are seeking an experienced RVN to join our Dermatology team. The post-holder will work alongside our Dermatology Clinicians. They will assist with consultations and procedures for sample collection and with procedures under sedation/general anaesthesia, such as biopsies.They will take responsibility for ordering of vaccines and dispensing of medication, under direction of the clinician in charge. Their role will involve the supervision and clinical teaching of our veterinary and veterinary nursing undergraduates.

Surgery Nurse

We are seeking RVNs to join our Surgical Nursing team, working on monthly rotations between our Theatres and our Surgery Wards. This is a great opportunity to develop your nursing skills within a more specialist field while still maintaining the variety that a rotational role can bring. During your Theatre rotations, you will prepare patients for surgery and work as a circulating nurse and scrub nurse for all of the surgical disciplines.      Your Ward rotation will enable hands on in-patient nursing care in our newly refurbished surgical wards, including a dedicated Neurology ward. The ideal candidates will be self-motivated, able to work well within a team and under their own initiative.    

Rota will include shift work and weekend OOH provision.
