Poppy Vowles

Poppy studied Veterinary Nursing at Abbeydale Vetlink in Monmouth Wales, whilst working in a first opinion practice in Weston-super-mare, before joining us in February 2018 to complete the final part of her training at the Small Animal Practice. She particularly enjoys inpatient care and feline nursing.

Outside of work, Poppy has two cats Isaac and Zelda, and enjoys music, films and being outdoors, especially when the sun is shining! 

Marta Costa

Marta graduated as a veterinary surgeon from the Technical University of Lisbon in 2001. She started her professional life working in the diagnostic laboratories of the same university with a research scholarship while working in first opinion small animal practice. After five years combining small animal practice with work as a clinical pathologist, she completed a Masters in Medical Microbiology and became a lecturer in clinical pathology and infectious diseases at the Lusofona University, in Lisbon.
 

Clare Slattery BSc (Hons)

Clare has experience with a range of species, including voluntary work at the RSPCA in Brent Knoll, Secret World Wildlife Rescue Centre, Noah's Ark Zoo Farm and Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane for two weeks on her gap year.
 
She is interested in dog behaviour and would love to own her own dog.

    Nurse Day - Pain Management POSTPONED

    Langford Vets is teaming up with the Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists to deliver a CPD day for nurses focusing on pain management.
    Speakers will be both Specialist Veterinary Surgeons and nurses who specialise in anaesthesia and analgesia. Topics will cover latest advances in pain management, pain recognition and assessment, local/regional anaesthetic techniques and case scenarios.

    Rachel Adams

    Rachel qualified at the University of Bristol in 2009, and started in mixed practice in Yorkshire before moving into farm animal practice. Rachel loves farm work, especially scanning and fertility work, and chose to pursue a residency in order to continue clinical work but also be involved in research and teaching.

    She’s very excited to be in Somerset and is looking forward to exploring the local area with her two dogs.
