The Feline Centre operates a very busy radioiodine service for hyperthyroid cats and demand for this treatment is high. One of the biggest concerns owners have over radioiodine is the hospital stay required immediately after the cat has been treated, when there are handling restrictions. We are pleased to announce that we have been able to reduce this time. For standard dose treatments, cats can now be discharged after only 10 days, which is shorter than most UK centres; for intermediate dose treatments the time has been reduced to 14 days. Full details of how the service works are available on our website and our clinicians are always happy to discuss potential referrals with you.
