Langford Vets Launch Veterinary Nursing Graduate Programme

Langford Vets Vet Nurse Graduate Scheme
Langford Vets is delighted to announce the start of its new Veterinary Nursing Graduate Programme.

The structured programme, which was open to recent nursing graduates of the Bristol Vet School, is a year-long placement that will include clinical rotations throughout the Langford Vets Small Animal Referral Hospital.

Developed by Becky Jones, Langford Vets Nursing Manager, and Andrea Jeffery, Veterinary Nursing Programme Director, University of Bristol, it is hoped the programme will tie in with one of the VN Futures’ ambitions, promoting structured career progression.

The first four nurses joined the team in August. Throughout the programme the nurses will develop their year one nursing skills as well as their knowledge in the application of clinical governance and evidence-based practice. They will also act as mentors to the next generation, supporting nursing students during their clinical rotations.

Becky Jones, Nursing Manager, said: “We are really excited to be able to offer this programme as a career stepping stone for our nursing graduates. As well as supporting the development of their clinical skills, we hope the incorporation of clinical governance will instil the value of ‘reflective and enquiring’ thinking within their nursing care.”

Langford Vets welcome the new nurses to our busy and expanding team and look forward to rolling the programme out to future veterinary nursing graduates.
