Bruce, a French Bulldog, presented to us at 15 weeks old with a severe pulmonic stenosis. This is a condition that if left untreated meant he would have developed heart failure and, as a result, would have died of his heart disease within one year.
Following an assessment and an echocardiography our Cardiologists carried out a balloon valvuloplasty. During this procedure, the balloon is positioned over the pulmonic valve using fluoroscopic guidance and the balloon is inflated, resulting in a reduction of the stenosis.
Bruce’s procedure was a success and he will now be able to live a normal happy life without any restrictions.
