Fly strike risk!

As you are bound to have noticed, the flies are out in force in this warm and humid weather and so the risk of fly strike in sheep is still high. For this reason it is important to keep checking your sheep for signs of fly strike, even if they have recently been shorn. Things to look out for include sheep separating themselves from the flock, stamping, nibbling and licking behaviour and looking dull or sitting more than usual. It is also important to use fly-repellents on all sheep, re-treating them throughout the summer according to the label instructions; products available from the practice.
