Neurology Service
Langford Veterinary Services offers the only Neurology and Neurosurgery referral service in the south west of England that is staffed full time by RCVS or European specialists in Internal Medicine, Surgery and Neurology. We are also the only referral centre in the area to have permanent 16 slice CT and 1.5T MRI scanners on site.
We are also able to perform electrodiagnostic testing (EMG, nerve conduction velocities, repetitive nerve stimulation) on animals to confirm and localise diseases of the peripheral nervous system. This is invaluable when investigating some collapsed animals.
This combination of advanced imaging and specialist vets allows us to offer a full range services to diagnose and treat neurological conditions including:
- Vertebral fracture/luxations
- Intervertebral disc disease
- Lumbosacral disease
- Brain tumours (surgical and non-surgical management)
- Seizures
- Syringomyelia
- Neuromuscular diseases
