Internal medicine
Small Animal Internal Medicine
Small animal internal medicine is currently the largest discipline in the Small Animal Hospital, and is delivered by a team of European Veterinary Specialists. Few private referral practices have such well qualified staff.
We also offer an advice service for referring vets and request that, for non-urgent cases, veterinarians send us a fax with the details of the case and the best time to call back as this helps us offer the best advice in a timely manner. But for urgent cases vets should call and ask for advice from the emergency medicine service directly.
Medical Diagnostic and Treatment Facilities Include:
- Flexible video endoscopy for the investigation of respiratory and gastrointestinal disease
- Cardiac evaluations including echocardiography, ECG interpretation, blood pressure, 24-hour ECG (Holter) monitoring, radiotelemetry
- Blood products available from the Pet Blood Bank UK to allow a modern approach to transfusion medicine.
- Intensive care unit for emergency and critical care
- Chemotherapy
and working with our imaging colleagues
