Hydrotherapy Hot Spa
The water in the hot spa is heated to approx 38° C and has in-built agitator jets. It can be used for:
- Relief of pain and muscle spasms
- Sensory stimulation (when using the agitator jets)
- Relaxation after exercise
Smaller dogs need less time in the spa due to their smaller body surface and increased risk of hyperthermia. It is also contraindicated to aim the jets directly at a skin incision. During a patients session in the hot spa it is a good opportunity for the hydrotherapist to perform any limb stretches and range of motion if needed.
The Primrose Trust Hydrotherapy Unit at Langford is the newest centre to open in the area. Our building has been internally redesigned to offer a full range of hydrotherapy treatments using the Hot Spa, Water Walker and Jet Pool. Appointments for treatment sessions are booked through the Small Animal Hospital and are carried out and supervised by qualified veterinary nurses and hydrotherapist’s. To book an appointment at the Primrose Trust Hydrotherapy Unit, or for more information please call 0117 928 9420/9447.
