David Tisdall BVSc MRCVS
Lead Clinician
After qualifying from Bristol University in 2006, David spent a year in mixed practice in South Gloucestershire. In August 2007 he joined the practice as a resident, and took over the clinical lead in August 2009. His particular clinical interests are in dairy cattle production and fertility, he is currently studying for a RCVS certificate in cattle health and production, and has a research interest in the early detection and treatment of dairy cattle lameness. He is married to Catherine, and lives in Wrington with their 2 cats and bearded dragon.
Ian Glover BVSc MRCVS
Farm Animal Clinician
Ian qualified here at Langford in 2004 and began his career as a farm vet in rural mid-Devon, where he stayed until 2010. He then worked for a year as a dairy vet in Cheshire, picking up some valuable extra experience. He enjoys all aspects of being a farm vet, but is especially interested in the health of beef and dairy herds. In his spare time he enjoys being outdoors walking or running, and devotes much of his time off to his wife and two dogs.
Margit Groenevelt DVM MRCVS
Resident in Farm Animal Practice
After graduating from Utrecht University in January 2009, Margit worked in Ireland for nine months before joining the FAP. Her appointment at the vet school is 50% FAP and 50% in research on cattle lameness with Nick Bell. She will be alternating her research and FAP weeks. Her special interests are small ruminants and she hopes to start her residency in small ruminants soon. Besides life as a vet she likes horse riding and travelling.
Sarah Harland BVSc MRCVS
Resident in Farm Animal Practice
Sarah graduated from Bristol in 2010 and joined the practice straight away. Her main interests are in monitoring dairy herd performance with data analysis and continuing education through farmers meetings. Outside of work Sarah enjoys hill walking, camping and baking cakes. She got married to James in July.
Shirley White
Practice Manager
Shirley has worked at the practice since before many of the staff were born! She is responsible for the administrative side of the practice and is the first point of contact for clients. Shirley was born in Langford, and has worked in the practice since she left school. She has remained local and would not want to live or work any were else!
Bridget Heal
Part-time Receptionist / Financial Administrator
Bridget supports Shirley in the running of the practice and has responsibility for billing and finance. Bridget is a local farmer's daughter and keeps a small flock of sheep with her brother. She has worked in the practice for 10 years and in the past worked for agricultural lawyers and surveyors.
