About Us
Langford Equine practice developed from the Large Animal Teaching Practice at the University of Bristol in 1998. The equine diagnostic centre was opened in 1994 followed by the Marjorie Coote Stable Block in 1998.
The first opinion equine practice shares facilities with the equine referral hospital and has immediate access to the internationally recognised specialists working there.

Langford Equine Practice provides a full range of veterinary services to horse, pony and donkey owners in the Avon and Somerset areas.
Our services include:

- Pre-purchase examination
- Lameness evaluation
- Castration (standing or general anaesthetic
- Medical and surgical diagnoses
- Stud medicine including AI with fresh, chilled and frozen semen. Semen collection undertaken
- Export certification
- 24 hour, 365 day emergency care including hospitalisation when required
- Veterinary attendance at equine events and shows
- Talks to equine groups and clubs
- Xrays and ultrasound at your yard or the centre
