ENT Medicine and Surgery

ENT diseases are common in cats and dogs. Over many years, staff within the Division have had a strong clinical interest in this area and earned the Division an international reputation.

Common ENT conditions we deal with include ear disease, upper airway obstruction (such as the diseases of laryngeal paralysis and excessive length of the soft palate), nasal conditions, dysphagia and tumours of the head and neck.

Whilst some of these conditions benefit from surgical treatment, others do not and these cases are often managed together with staff in the dermatology, internal medicine or gastro-enterology services, for example.
