Genuine 24-hour veterinary care with a veterinary surgeon in ICU at all times.
Oxygen therapy provided using humidified oxygen via nasal cannulae, nasal catheters or oxygen cage, as appropriate to the patient.
Provision of Heliox (helium/oxygen mixture) when this may be of benefit e.g. patients with upper respiratory tract obstruction.
Monitoring of oxygenation status using pulse oximetry and arterial blood gas analysis.
Nebulisation and chest physiotherapy routinely provided where appropriate.
Continuous suction system for management of severe, refractory pneumothorax.
Advanced monitoring of cardiovascular status using direct arterial blood pressure and central venous pressure where appropriate.
Facilities for short-term ventilation of patients if required.
