Research Interests

Research

  1. Disease entities caused by arthropod-transmitted pathogens in companion animals.
  2. a) Wildlife reservoirs – their roles in transmission of tick-borne pathogens
    b) Effects of pathogen carriage on wildlife health.
  3. Surveys into the prevalence of arthropod-borne diseases in companion animals.  Surveys conducted in the UK and Denmark and many other parts of the world.
  4. Prevalence of pathogens in ticks recovered from companion animals.
Collections of ticks from UK, Belgium and Brazil have been analysed for the presence of tick-borne pathogens
  5. Angiostrongylus vasorum; heartworm infection in the UK; prevalence and diagnostic methods.
