What's new at the Small Animal Practice

One thing that is different about the small animal practice at Langford is the central presence of students. We are a ‘teaching’ practice, one of only three in the country dedicated to teaching and associated with University Veterinary Schools. If you have ever been to us you will know what a lively, highly educated, stimulating and empathetic bunch these students are!

Hydrotherapy

We have recently been awarded CHA accreditation for our Hydrotherapy pool. The Canine Hydrotherapy Association (CHA) is a UK based organisation whose aims are to provide self-regulation and set benchmark standards of treatment, operation, training, supervision, first aid, record keeping and water quality for all its members.

Client evenings

Each year the practice holds a number of client events that centre around behaviour and training. In the past we have had lectures entitled ‘Crazy cats?’ and ‘Dogs behaving Badly?’ and run a reunion event for puppies.

Hot news - The year of 2011! They were an amazing year group AND they all passed! We wish them all the best for their future careers.

Many clients ask about the practice’s role in the veterinary course at Bristol University, and specifically about the stages of training in which you see the students. More details in the Students and Teaching section.
