Endocrine disease is a common presentation in canine patients seen in first opinion practices across the county. This day aims to look at the most common endocrinopathies, their presentation, approach to diagnosis and treatments as well as those diseases seen more rarely. 

Provisional Programme:

  • 09.00 - 10.00: Approach to the adrenal mass (Vicki Black)
  • 10.00 -10.30: Canine hyperadrenocorticism – monitoring (Sophie Keyte)
  • 10.30 -11.00: Canine hyperadrenocorticism treatment update, Hypophysectomy (Tom Harcourt -Brown)
  • 11.00 - 11.30: Tea/coffee
  • 11.30 -12.30: Canine hypoadrenocorticism – Acute crisis (Caroline Smith) - Chronic management (Sheena Warman)
  • 12.30 -13.30: Lunch
  • 13.30 – 14.15: Hyperlipidemia (Aarti Kathrani)
  • 14.15 -15.00: Canine thyroid tumours – Sara Gould
  • 15:00 - 15:15: Tea/coffee
  • 15.15 -16.00: Uncommon (bite size 20mins) – hypoparathryoidism, insulinoma (Chris Maunder)
  • 16.00 -17.00: Case studies: Guillaume Ruiz
